About Taylor Smith

Biography

Taylor Smith, BSc Kinesiology, Registered Massage Therapist

Taylor is a registered massage therapist, who graduated from Ontario College of Health & Technology in 2021. She completed her undergraduate studies at Lake Superior State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While at LSSU she also completed an Associates Degree in Health & Fitness Specialist.

Taylor started her career as an RMT in Southern Ontario where she gained experience with all types of people. She has worked with professional athletes in football, hockey, marital arts and motocross. Her experience also expands into family care, treating patients with cancer and even children!

Taylor has vast knowledge in a variety of athletics due to her multi-sport background. She is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and helping people achieve their goals in all age groups. She believes active rehabilitation will play a big role in healing injuries and incorporates it along with her treatments.

Taylor is from Sault Ste Marie and is happy to return home. Outside of work, you can find her with friends and family, being active outdoors and hanging out with her cat, Thunder and puppy, Jettson.

Services

We offer a wide range of massage services, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, and more! Taylor will work with you to create a customized treatment plan that meets your specific needs and goals. She will also add a home care plan for you to return to daily activities.

Taylor is certified in cupping therapy and Indie Head Massage.

Scope of Practice

The practice of Massage Therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention

of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.

Free 2-hour parking is located on Spring Street / March Street, across the road from Lake Superior Physiotherapy.

CANCELLATION & NO SHOW POLICY

General

Sometimes life happens and we forget about our appointments, are sick or something comes up last minute. In the event this happens please let us know as a soon as possible you will not be able to make your appointment. Your first late cancellation and no show will have 50% of the fee charged. Any appointments late cancelled or no showed after that will be charged 100% of the appointment fee.

Cancellations

Please cancel appointments a minimum of 24 hours in advance. There are reminder emails and texts if needed sent out 24 hours before your appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment please call the clinic at (705) 254-1399 or email taaylorsmithrmt@gmail.com.

There is also an option to cancel your appointment through the online booking system, if it is before 24 hours of your appointment.

Late Cancellations

If you cancel with less than 24 hours before your appointment, I will try to fill the appointment time. In the event I cannot, you will be responsible to pay for the time space you have taken.

No Shows

If you do not give notice that you cannot make your appointment and fail to show up for your appointment, you will be responsible to pay for the time space you have taken.

Cupping + Massage Therapy - 60 minutes

During cupping therapy, the massage therapist places cups onto your skin to create a vacuum/suction. The cups are left on for a few minutes. Benefits to cupping are promoting relaxation, enhancing circulation, and relieving pain.

Indie Head Massage - 45 minutes

$90

This 45 minute treatment is performed at very slow pace to increase relaxation. It focuses on the head/scalp, face, neck and shoulders. It can help with decreasing tension through areas worked on, relieves tension headaches and migraines, and improve sleep quality.

All prices include HST.

Insurance/billing

Policy

We kindly ask that if you have insurance to pay for the appointment after treatment and then we will submit on your behalf.

We are able to submit GreenShield Canada, SSQ Insurance and Empire Life.

COMING SOON

Soon we will be able to direct bill to your insurance company for you. We will be accepting most companies, like Manulife, IA, Canada Life, ClaimSecure, and more! (This is for direct billing ONLY. You will be able to submit after your appointment with the receipt that is provided)
